The Incredibles Birthday Party

The Incredibles Birthday Party

I hope each birthday continues to get more and more exciting as kids get older because this one was a blast. Jaxon is in a phase where he completely obsesses over a new movie ever other week. This party initially started out as a Toy Story movie... then Incredibles.... then Wreck it Ralph... and then back to Incredibles. I’m glad he settled on this theme because it was a blast!

I am not sponsored or affiliated with any of the linked products.

The party was two parts - one for school friends and another with family and friends later. We had about four preschool friends at first and it was exhausting. I can’t imagine hosting a bigger party of toddlers! We played outside in the sun for hours playing with water toys, water balloons, and a plastic pool. I will say - four year olds are easy to entertain.

I made a lot of DIY decorations for the party. The red fringe number four was made out of a foam board and gift wrapping from the dollar store. I used these scissors to create the fringe effect and glued the pieces on top of each other. Really fun and easy project that only takes about an hour to finish.

Dollar Store foam board wrapped in fringed wrapping paper! $2 of fun.

The next dollar store projects were the cityscapes behind the gift table and dessert table. These were also made out of foam boards and a gold wrapping paper. I cut the boards randomly to create cityscape silhouettes. The windows are made from the gold wrapping paper cut into random square pieces. I wanted them messy, fun, and not uniform! This was also a really easy project that I created about an hour before the party.

The table runners are made from this IKEA fabric. We have used these several times for parties and I absolutely love the bold look they create! The table confetti and figurines were from the Dollar Store. I’m telling you - you can make a big impact with a small budget!

One of my favorite decor items was our gallery wall of nine frames. I found these prints on Etsy and absolutely loved them! The listing is for a digital download and they were printed, in my hands, cut to size by Walgreens Photo within an hour. It was a small touch but I really enjoyed those superheroes peaking out from behind the frames.

I used red, gold, and black marble balloons for the balloon garland. The Jack Jack balloon stole the show though. Absolutely adorable.

If you’ve followed me long enough I’m sure you recognized my fake cake. My kids aren’t huge cake fans and prefer cookies so I don’t typically invest in nice cakes for their parties. The fake one does the trick for decor. I made the Incredibles logo for a cake topper and had a jumbo 4 added on by Magical Munckin. If you have young kiddos - check out Ashley’s shop! She hand makes educational preschool and sensory bin sets. They are great tools for learning numbers and letters and the fun colors make learning even more magical!

Speaking of cookies - we had to include Jack Jack’s num num cookies! Mike from The Magic Dads made some for us using this recipe from Pixar. The browned butter really takes these to the next level. They were a huge hit with both the kids and adults!

We also had some custom cookies designed by Honey & Heart Cookie Co. Markie is truly one-of-a-kind and SO talented. I honestly can’t imagine a party without her amazing work. She is me go-to for custom cookie designs!!

Finally, for favors - I’ve found these Grab & Go Play Packs to be perfect. They come with some coloring pages, stickers, and some crayons for kids. This one is a pack of twelve, so we will be utilizing the extras for road trips and flights in the future.

Jaxon is also obsessed with PEZ candies and I couldn’t resist buying these as favors when I found them. How cute are they??

The parties were a great time and left this Spider-Man completely exhausted and flying high. This was our first event seeing vaccinated friends and family for over a year and it was so fulfilling. Feeling very blessed and lucky to be celebrating our sweet four year old!
